About the Author

Educated at Leeds University. First job was quite quirky: I was the Letters Editor at the ancient Lady magazine. I had to personally reply to readers' household and miscellaneous queries, and print a selection of them in the mag each week. Very old-fashioned, but excellent fun. Main work has been working as a sub-editor on consumer magazines, everything from cars, to lads' gadgets, to fashion, to true life women's mags. Previous titles with Buster Books: Girls' Book of Secrets and Girls' Book of Friendship. Particular interests include: yoga, travel, music ... Ann Kronheimer was born and brought up in Primrose Hill in London. She studied Fine Art at Hornsey School of Art but turned to illustration on leaving. In the early years she subsidised her career with gardening and working in a cinema. Now, she is lucky enough to spend her days drawing in a studio overlooking the garden of her home in Hackney. She has illustrated books by authors such as Dick King-Smith, Linda Chapman and Herbie Brennan and worked for publishers including Puffin, Ladybird and Buster Books.
