About the Author

Penny Worms has over twenty years' experience of writing and editing action and non-fiction titles for many leading children's publishers, including Puffin Books, Egmont Books, Macmillan Children's Books, TickTock Media and Hodder Wayland. She is the author of the best-selling Wallace and Gromit: Grand Adventures and Glorious inventions. In addition to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland for Carlton, Zdenko Basic's books for children include The Tales from Long Ago, The Cleverest Spider and The Tales of the Wind. He received a prize at the first Croatian Biennale of Illustration and also won the Best Young Artist in Croatia award. In addition to his books, Zdenko works with The Merlin Theatre in Zagreb as a costume designer, scenographer and graphic designer. Born in Croatia, his work has been displsayed at illustration exhibitions in Zagreb, Bratislava and Tehran.
