Craft Smart: Papercraft by Michelle Powell

Papier mache, decoupage, origami...Learn how to make all these and much more in Papercraft - A fantastic step-by-step guide to creating 12 of your own paper creations. Step by step instructions show you how to fashion a paper rose, an origami butterfly and even a monster toy. Be the envy of all your friends as you whip up bangles and an aquarium, just from paper! The Craft Smart series: Discover fun new crafts and techniques in this series. Learn to knit, make your own jewellery and create fantastic projects out of paper and recycled materials. Following on from the successful Art Smart series, Craft Smart presents a fresh, fun approach to four creative skills: knitting, jewellery-making, papercrafting and crafting with recycled objects. Each book contains 12 original projects to make, using a range of readily available materials. There are projects for boys and girls, carefully chosen to appeal to readers of all abilities. Each project is graded with a difficulty rating of 1 to 5. A special 'techniques and materials' section encourages young crafters to try out their own ideas while learning valuable practical skills.

Reviews

'I tend to use websites for creative ideas rather than books these days, but the step-by-step instructions and clear pictures are easy to follow and would suit young crafters perhaps choosing their own tasks and wishing to learn new skills.'

-11 'An attractive, colourful book... Recommended for school libraries, parents and teachers and for any creative child.' - CBI Children's Book Festival 'The cover of this book immediately draws you in as it shows some really lovely pieces of papercraft - I really wanted to be able to make them! ... They are all unusual and yet use readily available materials so are good for school or home use.' - 20th October - Parents in Touch
