Family Secrets by Gail Jones UK

When fifteen-year-old Rachel's family move from the sea side town of Scarborough to industrial Rotherham she thought her biggest problem would be fitting in at a new school. She was so wrong. Within weeks Rachel finds out she was abandoned at birth and adopted. After confronting her parents she realises they are hiding more from her and sets out to find the truth about her past. With the help of her new boyfriend, Luke she goes in search of her birth family but finds much more than she ever imagined. While coping with these devastating family revelations she also has to deal with manipulating bully, Emma and the possibility of losing her new boyfriend. Rachel soon realises that her life will never be the same again. This is the first part of the Rachel Brooks Trilogy. The year is only going to get worse.
