Synopsis

The Wolf and the Shadow Monster by Avril McDonald

Part of The five Feel Brave series of books which help children deal with: confidence issues; change, loss and grief; managing anxiety and fears; and bullying. Wolfgang is excited to be allowed to have his friends over to stay for the whole night. They all have such fun until the lights go out and Wolfgang's secret fear of the dark is revealed. His friends laugh at him until they hear his story and see the Shadow Monster for themselves! Spider shows Wolfgang a special magic trick to make it go away. The magic trick is so good all of his friends want to try it on other things that scare them too. Suitable for children aged 4-7 years.

About the Author

Avril McDonald has a Diploma of Education from Wellington College of Education, New Zealand, where she trained as a primary school teacher majoring in music and dance. She has had a varied career in digital entertainment. She launched Feel Brave to help teachers and parents find solutions to help children learn to deal with their emotions and to reach their potential. Illustrated by Tatiana Minina who is a Massachusetts based visual artist and illustrator. She studied art in Vladikavkaz, Russia. Her full-time artistic career started in 2010 after she relocated to the United States. Tatiana works in watercolour, acrylic, oil, ink, pencil and digital media. She specialises in illustrating children's books.
