The Lovereading4Kids comment

Wonderfully vibrant and imaginative illustrations coupled with some really well thought out rhyming text will ensure every child wants to read and re read this delightful book time and time again. Ideal for that holiday where you don’t allow your child to take loads of books with him or her. Another title from the small but perfectly formed publisher Barefoot Books. Also comes with a CD complete with fun animal sounds.

Synopsis

Walking Through the Jungle by Stella Blackstone

Hike through the rainforest, scale a snowy mountain, swim across the ocean and still make it home for dinner!

Join a fearless young explorer as she encounters different animals and terrains of the world and makes it home for supper, safe and sound. The Music CD is bursting with fun animal sounds and the book is vibrant and imaginative. Together they make a wonderful gift or learning tool.

Reviews

Rhyme, rhythm and repetitive structure ensure that children will soon learn the pages off by heart and will be happy to join in. Each verse has an animal sound which children can follow to create new verses for the poem - which, incidentally, has conventional punctuation. -- Child Education Child Education

About the Author

On good days, Stella Blackstone lives east of the sun and west of the moon. On less good days, she lives at the bottom of a well. She finds ideas in all of these places and turns them into songs, poems and rhymes. She has read and written poetry for as long as she can remember, and her favourite books include Louis Untermeyer’s A Child’s Treasury of Poetry, which was a constant companion throughout her childhood, Paolo Coelho’s The Alchemist, everything by T.S. Eliot, and William Buck’s translation of The Ramayana. She lives in southwest England, and enjoys walking and working in her garden as well as doing nothing whenever she has the chance.
