The Best Things Ever Set 1 by Helen Orme, David Orme

The slot machines were just fun to start with. Soon Liam couldn't stop playing them. But where was he going to get the money from? The Best Things Ever is part of the Streetwise reading series. 'Streetwise' covers key PSHE (personal, social and health education) topics with each book featuring a short story highlighting a single topic, accompanied by discussion points and writing ideas in the back of each book. Each story is short enough to enable a topic to be covered in a single 20 minute lesson. Streetwise is published by Ransom Publishing, a specialist publisher for reluctant and struggling readers. It is ideal for readers aged 11+ with a reading ages of 10+.
