Synopsis

See You on the Backlot by Thomas Nealeigh

Enter a world most outsiders never see: carnival sideshow! In its secret world, with its own language and set of rules, meet Tony. Not yet 15 years old, he travels the country as part of the carnival sideshow owned by his father, Charlie. Dubbed 'The Clown Prince of the Sideshow' by the other carnies, and with cheering crowds, endless adventure, and thrills at every turn, Tony's life may seem like a dream. But the fun and laughter stops backstage. Once the lights are off, the show is closed, and the townies have gone home, the reality of life on the road has its sinister side - Tony pops, Charlie drinks heavily, a stranger with a past turns up, and then the accidents start happening. See You On The Backlot is an engaging, fast-moving, character-focused narrative. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always entertaining, it is packed with drama and emotion from one page to the next. See You On The Backlot is a title in the highly contemporary Cutting Edge fiction series for young adults. The series features fast-paced quick reads. Each book focuses on difficult topics and situations that many teenagers will have experienced first-hand or through friends. Cutting Edge is ideal for readers aged 14+ with a reading age of 12+.
