This is one of Ransom's most successful high interest, low reading age reading programmes. It is aimed at children aged 6 - 14 with a reading age of 5 - 7, ensuring Goal! is ideal for children who are struggling to develop the basics of reading and who need structured systematic phonics-based reading books.

The level 2 pack includes sixteen books. It introduces the main graphemes (letters) and phonemes (sounds) and builds basic consonant-vowel-consonant words. It features some higher-level football vocabulary. The pack includes two accompanying workbooks and titles such as Cool Kit and Into the Net.
