Synopsis

Amazing Pirates by Nicola Baxter

This is a compendium of swashbuckling pirate adventure stories. Colin King's hilarious illustrations bring the crew of the Purple Pimple to life and add another layer of lunacy to this collection of nautical nonsense. The short stories are just the right length for bedtime reading, and the lively color illustrations will amuse every child. Simple vocabulary and entertaining stories make this fun book perfect for reading aloud or for young readers to try themselves.

About the Author

Nicola Baxter has written or compiled over three hundred children's titles and loves the magical way that words and pictures work together in children's books. She likes computers, crime and cakes (not necessarily in that order) as well as tales of pirate ships and treasure. Colin King has been illustrating children's books since 1976. He has worked on over 60 titles, many of which have enjoyed international success. His four children have grown up, but he, fortunately, hasn't, which is why he enjoys drawing pirates without their trousers. He lives in a crooked house in Suffolk, England, with his wife, dog and cat.
