About the Author

Consultant editor Dr John Haywood is an honorary research Fellow at Lancaster University and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society of Great Britain. He has contributed to and written many history books. Charlotte Hurdman has contributed to a number of acclaimed books on history. Fiona MacDonald has contributed to many books, including a book on keeping clean, which won the Times Educational Supplement's Senior Information Book award of the year. Philip Steele has written many non-fiction books for children of all ages. Richard Tames is the author of over 100 books for children.
