About the Author

Kelly McKain

Kelly McKain is a vibrant new voice in children’s fiction. A "Stand Up Babe" herself, Kelly has worked as a teacher and an advertising copywriter. She is now a full-time writer, and lives in Greenwich with a fridge full of chocolate.

Kelly says: "I decided to be a writer at the age of five, when my mum broke it to me that I couldn't be a mermaid. Lucy and I have so much in common: we both love boy-gazing, hanging out with the girls and flicking through fash mags in the bath – although I have never fallen down a manhole. Honestly. Never."
