Pyramids and Mummies by Joyce Tydesley

Pyramids and Mummies by Joyce Tydesley

Pop-up pyramids. A fold-out mummy. Genuine grave-robber confession. Amulets in a pouch. Egyptian god cards. Enter the fascinating world of the ancient Egyptians and travel to the deep, dark tombs of the pharaohs to uncover mummies, spells, and treasure. Unravel the secret ritual of mummification and the identity of the mysterious boy-king Tutankhamun. Explore the wonders of a spectacular civilization, from pyramid building to eerie animal-headed deities and cryptic hieroglyphic writing. This lavishly illustrated book provides a first-rate introduction to life and, more particularly, death in ancient Egypt, while the special features bring the text vividly to life. Academically accurate, yet easy to read and understand, and beautiful to own, Pyramids and Mummies tells a compelling story.
