Kamal Goes to Trinidad by Malcolm Frederick

I'm so excited! Today I'm flying to Trinidad and Tobago with my dad and sister Remi. On his first visit to the islands where his parents were born, Kamal learns steelpans and listens to calypso, looks round his father's old school, soaks up the sea and the wildlife - and gets a welcome from his grandparents that he'll never forget.

About the Author

Malcolm Frederick is an actor, writer and producer, perhaps best known as the writer of the television sketch and stand-up comedy series Get Up, Stand Up, which he also produced and performed in. With the Carib Theatre Company he has worked with the Nottingham Playhouse on Sweet Inspiration, a celebration of Caribbean words and music from the 50s and 60s. He currently lives in London. Prodeepta Das was born in Cuttack, in eastern India. He is a freelance photographer and author whose pictures have been published in over 20 children's books. In 1991 Inside India, which he also wrote, won the Commonwealth Photographer's Award.
