Three Cheers for Wales by Wendy White

Emyr Rhys and Betsi Wyn are back! Between cheering for Wales and cheering up Da-cu, days out with Mam-gu and dressing up like a frog, they have plenty to keep them busy and amused! Exciting times - and funny moments - fill these five new stories for young readers by award-winning author, Wendy White, with humorous illustrations by Helen Flook.

This is the second collection of stories about Betsi Wyn, her family and friends, following on from the award-winning Welsh Cakes and Custard. The five stories all stand alone, though they share the same characters two children and their grandparents. Betsi and Emyr visit a Victorian school, go to a rugby match, dress up for a party and head off to the seaside. The stories, though written in English, contain a smattering of Welsh, which is translated for non-Welsh speakers. The whole book is set in a recognisable Wales Cardiff and Tenby are visited making it a book which clearly delights in its setting.
