Synopsis

Pens - Help! by Alexa Tewkesbury

The next two of our exciting and beautifully illustrated full-colour Bible-reading resource for 3- to 6-year-olds - created to draw young children closer to God every day through Bible readings, stories and prayers. Each day has a Bible reading, a prayer and a story to help understand and apply the day's main thought: each individual book contains a mix of Bible stories and stories focused on the Pens' daily lives, every one linked to the Bible verse for the day. Creative and fun, these daily Bible devotions for young children will help them to apply God's Word in a relevant way to their lives. God is a constant Helper to His people, and is with us every day to help us when we are scared or face something difficult or new. Jesus was a child on earth, like us and understands how we feel. Topics include: 'Asking for Help': Philippa encourages Pens to go with her on a skydiving trip, but unlike the other Pens Denzil is too embarrassed to ask her for help, even though he is scared; 'Joshua in Jericho - The walls that fell down'; the story of Joshua trusting God to help them overcome their enemies and obeying what He said; 'Who is Jesus?' Splodge wants to get to know Jesus better, so goes to talk to her Pens friends to see what she can find out about Jesus' life and character; 'The Boy Jesus - A child in the Temple' - the story of Jesus staying behind in the Temple in Jerusalem, and Mary and Joseph searching for him.
