Synopsis

Sister Lucy's Great Big Family by Susie Poole

Beautiful picture book for young children based on a true story. Deep in the tea-rich, dirt-poor hills north of Nairobi, Kenya, the sun rises and sets and a miracle gently unfolds. Every day, Sister Lucy gets her 'good-at-thinking' head to work and together with a bigger-than-usual helping of hope, turns dreams into reality for her great big family. Based on the story of a real orphanage in Kenya, best-selling illustrator Susie Poole takes children on an amazing journey of discovery, helping children to understand what it means to be truly loved and what can happen with just a small amount of faith.

About the Author

Susie Poole wanted to be an artist from childhood and her work can now be seen on textiles, greetings cards and in more than a dozen books such as A Time for Everything and Just as I am. Susie lives in Manchester with her husband John and their children.
