Synopsis

More Than Magnets Exploring the Wonders of Science in Preschool and Kindergarten by Sally Moomaw, Brenda Heironymus

Like many early childhood teachers, you may sometimes neglect science activities -- perhaps because you don't trust your own knowledge. More Than Magnets takes the uncertainty out of teaching science, with more than 100 interactive activities in life science, physics and chemistry. For each activity, the book provides scientific background, children's typical responses to the activity, and a suggested sequence for implementing it. The popular More Than ...Series by Sally Moomaw and Brenda Hieronymus is a child-centered integrated curriculum for five important areas of early learning: math, art, music, science, and reading and writing. Ideal for beginning teachers and inclusive classrooms, each book offers directions and illustrations for more than 100 hands-on activities, with answers to common teacher questions. These books are guaranteed to encourage children to explore the wonders of their world!
