Mr. Follycule's Wonderful Beard by H.L. Goldsworthy

Mr. Follycule's Wonderful Beard by H.L. Goldsworthy

Mr. Follycule has no hair. Not a single strand! One night, he wishes for some wonderful hair to take care of. The next day his wish comes true and he begins to grow the most magnificent beard - the biggest beard in all the world. The only trouble is, it won't stop growing! This heartfelt and funny tale of an ordinary wish with an extraordinary outcome will delight readers of all ages.

One of this year's favourites, both for sheer ridiculousness and for the glitter that decorates most of its pages. My daughter laughed a lot the first time I read this, and even more the second. Definitely a grower. Independent on Sunday A funny story which younger children will enjoy; it is enhanced by the exuberent illustrations, with Mr Follycule's beard, and the clothes subsequently made from it, having tactile strands of glitter throughout.
