Worm Slug Maggot & Leech and Their Troublesome Transformation by Polly Walker

Worm, Slug, Maggot and Leech are firm friends sharing the ups and downs of life together but they are deeply troubled by the way they look. Wishing for a miracle to make them beautiful, Miss Stick Insect offers her assistance. Through the incredible powers of her mind and positive thought, she helps the creatures achieve what they think will be a marvellous make over. But Miss Stick Insect also has a valuable lesson for the creatures as they begin to realise their new found beauty has come with consequences. The four friends discover that being beautiful has not made their lives complete and they now face a difficult choice...

About the Author

Polly Walker's background is in children's education. Originally training as a primary school teacher she made a transition to Special Educational Needs - specifically teaching children and young people that were permanently excluded from mainstream school. Most recently Polly led a team of Primary Behaviour Support Specialists whilst also training to become an accredited mediator, working to resolve conflict within the workplace, community and educational settings. It was through Polly's experiences of working with children and young people exhibiting complex emotional and behavioural difficulties that she developed a strong desire to produce a piece of fun, age appropriate literature focusing on self-esteem. Polly lives in Hertfordshire, and was the first author to land a publishing deal through Britain's Next Bestseller.
