About the Author

David Hanson has a BSc(Hons) in Physics and Chemistry. He taught science in a state secondary school before moving to Aberlour House Preparatory School to teach both Science and Mathematics. He was involved for many years in various scientific studies including recording mammals and woodlice for the distribution atlases. Katie Hanson has a BSc(Hons) in Environmental Biology and a Masters in Environmental Studies.She taught field studies before gaining her PGCE in secondary science at the University of York. She has taught Science in state and independent schools including the Lancaster Royal Grammar School and most recently the Loretto School in Edinburgh.
