Welly Walks by Hannah Ensor

Welly Walks by Hannah Ensor

A book of puddles, splashing and getting soaking wet. A simple story told with humour, following two young children splashing in the puddles - but is Mum really too grown up to play? So what if one child uses a wheelchair? It doesn't need to spoil their fun. Engaging and entertaining while breaking down the fear of 'different', helping all who read the books (parents included) look past the chair and see the child. GBP1 from the sale of each book will be donated to the young disabled people's charity Whizz-Kidz to help more children enjoy fun and full childhoods, and get the right wheelchairs for them at the right time.

About the Author

Hannah Ensor graduated from Kings' College London with a BSc (Hons) in 2004 hoping it was the start of a challenging and interesting career, but over the next few years became increasingly disabled due to a combination of conditions. When this left her hardly able to talk for 3 months in 2006 she started drawing cartoons to tell stories of hospital life and to keep her sense of humour fully operational. It worked. From then on her tongue in cheek, accurate observations on life depicted in simple stickman form have proved popular. This led her to create a small business Stickman CommunicationsA putting her cartoons to good use. After illustrating & writing two booklets, leaflets etc. she has now moved on to fully fledged books. Her cartoons often take awkward explanations and turn them into light-hearted talking points - to the benefit of all concerned. Recently Hannah has been working in association with the Charity Whizz-Kidz to produce two children's picture books.
