The Lovereading4Kids comment

A touching story of how a timid dragon saves the day when he defends the villagers against a cruel and heartless knight. George is such a kind and gentle creature that all the other dragons who are fearsome and mighty banish him from the mountains. George makes new friends and, when the time comes to lead the charge against the cruel knight who oppresses them, George leads the charge with some very satisfactory results.

This title is one of a number of picture book titles from new publisher Far Far Away Books. Launch titles include:

Synopsis

George and the Knight by Sue McMillan

An entertaining new take on the classic dragon myth. George isn’t an average dragon. In fact he’s so mild-mannered the rest of the colony disowns him until he can prove himself worthy.

When he meets Alric, the blacksmith’s son, it seems George has found his place, until Lord Halagad arrives and threatens the whole village and the dragons. Can George rise to the challenge and save his human and dragon friends?

Far Far Away is a London-based independent publisher that prides itself on creating high-quality children’s books and digital content primarily for 0-14 year olds, alongside a number of titles which also cross over to the adult gift market.

Founded in 2011 out of the love of beautifully illustrated led content, our creative and talented team has worked with some of the greatest names in children’s publishing and love what they do.

When it comes to our stories, we at Far Far Away pride ourselves on nurturing new talent, as well as publishing titles by established authors and artists. We know that it is their talent which brings to life dragons, elves and traditional storybook favourites as well as a whole range of new characters for children to cherish.

We are also a proud supporter of the United Nations Environment Programme, Plant for the Planet whereby on a selection of our titles, a tree will be planted for every book sold, to protect our forests for future generations.

The books we make not only are beautiful to look at, they are printed on high-quality paper, enhancing both the illustrations and the longevity of the title – we want our books to become childhood favourites.
