L'andromina De La Mama by Anita Pouroulis

Mums Cronky Car is an underdog tale about a car with a surprise for its owners. Written by Anita Pouroulis and illustrated by Jon Lycett-Smiththis fun and imaginative, rhyming story has a big heart and is a great read for the whole family. The story follows an unloved and unappreciated family car which is on the verge of being scrapped. One morning, on the school-run, the Cronk is living up to his name, breaking down at the traffic light and even being overtaken by a disability scooter! Then out of nowhere he does something he's never done before, something unbelievable. And from that moment on he's the family favourite and their adventures together are just beginning...

About the Author

Anita Pouroulis

Anita Pouroulis was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1969. She grew up there, the eldest of three siblings.

Anita worked as a primary school teacher for many years, both in South Africa and in the U.K. While teaching, she developed a passion for children’s books and read every single book in each and every school library! She also studied part time, completing an Honours Degree in Psychology. She then moved out of teaching for a while, landing what she calls her ‘best job ever’, writing and copy-editing for a teenage girls’ magazine based in Johannesburg.

“My daughter is an incredible source of inspiration for my stories,” she says, “As well as the memories of all my ‘other’ children I taught so many years ago!”
