Vom Expertendilemma ist die Rede, wo zu einem bestimmten Sachverhalt Gutachten von Experten eingeholt wurden, die allerdings zu unterschiedlichen und mitunter widerspruchlichen Stellungnahmen kommen. Die daraufhin einsetzenden Auseinandersetzungen sind haufig von dem Verdacht gepragt, schwarze Schafe in der Wissenschaft stellten die Betonung der eigenen oder fremden Interessen uber die strenge Norm des ausschliesslichen Ringens um Wahrheit. Der in diesem Buch dokumentierte Diskurs wurde zuerst innerhalb der Akademie fur Technikfolgenabschatzung gefuhrt; daraufhin wurden Vertreter unterschiedlicher Fachrichtungen um eine Stellungnahme gebeten. In der abschliessenden Metakritik werden die vorgebrachten Thesen in ihrer Argumentation nochmals einander gegenubergestellt.
