On the 12th October 1979 The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams, was first published and to celebrate this publishing phenomenon Pan Macmillan has repackaged all of Douglas Adams’s books, in the series, as a celebration of this 30th anniversary. And as if that weren’t enough on the 12th October 2009, thirty years on from publication of the first Hitchhikers novel, a new instalment of the planet-hopping, comic genius series will be  published. Author, Eoin Colfer has been specially commissioned to write the next novel, continuing the saga of Arthur Dent and his companions. And Another Thing looks set to get a whole new generation loving these books so look out on the 12th October when you will be able to read an opening extract from the new, enthralling episode, here on Lovereading.
