WHY NOT HELP YOUR KIDS' IMAGINATION BY GIVING THEM THE BOOKS THAT FEED THE FILMS?
Films are a wonderful way of piquing children's interest in stories, but sometimes it's good for them to read the book before they see the movie.
When you read you can imagine how landscapes, characters and adventures look - it's brilliant creative brain training.
In this category you'll find information about exciting upcoming films and the original books they're based on, which are often even better! Films hitting cinemas this year include Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang and the first part of the final Harry Potter extravaganza. All are based on fantastic writing, and we'd really recommend encouraging your kids to discover the books as well as the big screen adaptations.
Upcoming Film releases for 2010 that are based on books:
The Railway Children (40th anniversary re-release) - April
Robin Hood (May)
Twilight: Eclipse (July)
The Eagle of the Ninth (Sept)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Harrows: Part One (Nov)
Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Dec)
