MAN BOOKER-AWARD WINNER
Winner of the Man Booker Prize for his ‘grown up book’ Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha - teens will love it too - our Guest Editor Roddy Doyle has gone on to write some terrific stories for children including the hilarious ‘Giggler Treatment’ series and stunning teenage fiction in Wilderness.
His latest book, Greyhound of a Girl was our Mega Book of the Month in September so we are delighted that Roddy has agreed to be our October Guest Editor and taken the time to choose and share some of the children's authors and books that have influenced him in his life and he tells us why.
Each of the titles he's selected features a boy protagonist; the titles include a picture book for toddlers by the immensely talented Mick Inkpen, Roald Dahl's Danny Champion of the World and Richmal Crompton's classic, Just William to Holes by Louis Sachar and Dickens' Great Expectations. Each one of them has left an indelible mark on Roddy.
