Amanda Hall
Amanda Hall is an award winning international illustrator who lives in Cambridge, noted for her stylish illustrations of folk tales and legends. With a style that is lush and decorative and which demonstrates her love of colour, her children’s books are often
mythical and timeless, reflecting her fascination with the art and peoples of other cultures.
Amanda studied Graphic Art at what is now the Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge. Having travelled widely to North and South America, Africa and India, Amanda finds herself drawn to illustrating ethnic tales and legends in a style that uses watercolours and crayon to build layers of colour and texture.
Amanda is the illustrator of a number of books for Lion including The Lion Day-by-Day Bible and Prayers, The Hard to Swallow Tale of Jonah and the Whale and most recently The Lion Classic Aesop’s Fables. She has also illustrated for Frances Lincoln, Barefoot Books, Anova Books and Templar Publishing.
In her spare time, Amanda loves decorating and singing - sometimes at the same time!
