Dark Days

Dark Days

Author: James Ponti Narrator: Elizabeth Klett Release Date: 01/06/2021

Molly's up against the undead-and the fate of Manhattan is in her hands-in the third and final book of the Dead City trilogy, which Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins says 'breathes new life into the zombie genre.' Molly and the Omegas fight to contain the storm unleashed by Operation Blue Moon. As they do, Molly's personal life is thrown into turmoil when she discovers that one of her closest friends has joined the ranks of the undead, a development that threatens the Omegas as well as Molly's relationship with her mother. As Molly and her friends battle the Dead Squad (a special NYPD task force made up entirely of zombies), they discover that the world's largest gold reserve is kept in a vault eighty feet below the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. They find a photograph of the vault's construction in the 1920s and realize that the construction crew was led by none other than the leader of the undead, Marek Blackwell. Could this explain the source of all his money? And if so, what is he planning to do with it? Is he rebuilding Dead City . . . or is he building an undead army?

Blue Moon

Author: James Ponti Narrator: Elizabeth Klett Release Date: 01/05/2021

Molly is ready for more nonstop, undead action in this follow-up to Dead City, which Kirkus Reviews described as 'a fast-paced read for those who like their zombies with just a little fright.' When Molly Bigelow discovered that zombies shared New York with humans, she didn't think life could get more shocking. Then she learned that her mother was once one of the greatest zombie killers ever-and she discovered that her dead mother is not technically dead after all (although she isn't alive, either). Molly's efforts to keep these secrets and to help her Omega team track down the identity of the original thirteen zombies will take her from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade to New Year's Eve in Times Square. Her loyalties to friends and family will be put to the test. And her life will be changed in ways she never could have imagined.

A Little Princess

A Little Princess

Author: Frances Hodgson Burnett Narrator: Elizabeth Klett Release Date: 01/05/2021

A Little Princess is a children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The novella appears to have been inspired in part by Charlotte Brontë's unfinished novel, Emma, featuring a rich heiress with a mysterious past who is apparently abandoned at a boarding school. The thread of the book is evident in the novella, in which Sara Crewe is left at Miss Minchin's, loses her father, is worked as a drudge, and is surprised with the kindness of an Indian gentleman who turns out to be Captain Crewe's friend. However, at just over one-third the length of the later book, the novella is much less detailed. Generally, the novel expanded on things in the novella; Captain Crewe's 'investments' are only referred to briefly and generally, and much of the information revealed in conversations in the novel is simply summarised. However, there are details in the novella which were dropped for the novel. While a drudge, Sara is said to have frequented a library, in which she read books about women in rough circumstances being rescued by princes and other powerful men. In addition, Mr. Carrisford's illness is specified as liver trouble. As part of our mission to publish great works of literary fiction and nonfiction, Sheba Blake Publishing Corp. is extremely dedicated to bringing to the forefront the amazing works of long dead and truly talented authors.

A tween takes on undead New Yorkers in this paranormal action-adventure that 'breathes new life into the zombie genre' (Suzanne Collins, author of The Hunger Games). Most kids have enough to deal with between school, homework, extracurricular activities, and friends, but Molly Bigelow isn't your typical tween. By day, Molly attends MIST-the Metropolitan Institute of Science and Technology-but it's what she's learning outside of school that sets her apart from her classmates. Molly is a zombie hunter, just like her mother. This, however, is news to Molly. Now she must come to terms with not only the idea that zombies exist, but also that they're everywhere, and it's her job to help police them and keep the peace. Sure, she'd like to be a regular kid, but 'regular' just isn't possible when it turns out the most revered (or feared, depending on your perspective) zombie hunter in the history of New York City is your mother. It seems Molly's got some legendary footsteps to follow . . .

The Experiences of Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective

The Experiences of Loveday Brooke, Lady Detective

Author: C. L. Pirkis Narrator: Elizabeth Klett Release Date: 01/03/2021

Loveday Brooke is the first female detective created by a woman writer. Catherine Louisa Pirkis published stories about this smart, spirited sleuth in the 1880s, and they were collected into this anthology in 1894. In these tales, Loveday takes on cases involving wayward nuns, missing debutantes, a mysterious princess, and a ghost who resembles Napoleon, among other strange phenomena. Throughout, she is insightful, professional, and simply more intelligent than anyone else around her, indicating that Loveday and Pirkis were both ahead of their time. This collection includes seven stories: "The Black Bag Left on a Doorstep," "The Murder at Troyte's Hill," "The Redhill Sisterhood," "A Princess' Vengeance," "Drawn Daggers," "The Ghost of Fountain Lane," and "Missing."

From New York Times bestselling author Peter F. Hamilton comes his first audio original, A Hole in the Sky, Book 1 in the Arkship Trilogy. Sixteen-year old Hazel lives in the Daedalus, a starship that is flying in search of a new world. The ship has been traveling for five hundred years, searching for a world to settle in after having to abandon its last world. Everyone on board Daedalus lives a very simple existence in farming villages. The age of machines supplying their needs was lost during a mutiny five hundred years ago. The captain regained control of the ship after a huge struggle. Now, with finite resources, everything in the habitat is Cycled, including humans, who essentially are suicided at sixty-five so they don't deplete the biosphere's resources. Hazel encounters the Cheaters, people who refused to Cycle, who tell her the Daedalus has been damaged and its atmosphere is leaking away. When her brother has a paralyzing accident which condemns him to be Cycled since he can no longer be productive, Hazel runs off with him to join the Cheaters. While with the Cheaters, she discovers that much of what has been told to the people living on Daedalus for the last five hundred years is untrue, and that the ship is under the control of Aliens called the Yi. Soon, Hazel is in a thrilling race to help repair the ship and help the people of the Daedalus escape the Yi.

The Price of Pride: A Pride & Prejudice Variation

The Price of Pride: A Pride & Prejudice Variation

Author: Abigail Reynolds Narrator: Elizabeth Klett Release Date: 01/01/2021

In Love with His Brother's Betrothed… As far as Fitzwilliam Darcy is concerned, the only good thing to come of Elizabeth Bennet's bitter refusal of his heart and his hand was his new resolve to prove himself a better man. He'd done it, too, by closing the painful distance between himself and his estranged younger brother, Drew. And now Drew is newly engaged to be married…to Elizabeth Bennet. Family duty forces Darcy to support the engagement, especially since even the smallest hint of disapproval could ruin the brothers' hard-won reconciliation. But how can he bear to watch his brother marry the woman he loves? To see her in Drew's arms, bearing Drew's children, and forever out of his reach? An Accidental Compromise Elizabeth has no choice but to accept an engagement to handsome Drew Darcy. He's amiable, educated, and respectable, and if it weren't for his last name, she wouldn't even mind the idea. But to marry the brother of the gentleman she'd so coldly rejected only months before? Especially now that she realizes her feelings for him are far from sisterly. How can she marry Drew while longing for his brother? But the cost of breaking her engagement would be ruination, and with it, the loss of any hope of a life with Darcy. Trapped by loyalty, love, and propriety, there is no way out. But old family secrets haunt the Darcy brothers. Could those secrets, when brought out in the open, change everything? This intensely emotional variation on Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice will make you fall in love with Elizabeth and Darcy all over again.
