LoveReading4Kids Says

This book is a five-part framework for making a difference in school by analysing what educators need to make a difference to their pupils.

It is a book aimed to leaders and aspiring leaders. It includes all areas of education from children’s progress, their academic success and pastoral care and how to work with colleagues and maximise time and teacher’s strengths and experiences.

The author clearly has a vision and a passion for his topic, however I found it a challenging read. Whilst it is clearly very informative, it is also quite prescriptive. It is a book that needs time to read slowly and absorb, not one you can dip into for a quick fix.

It is filled with strategies to promote good pupil behaviour and prevent bullying in the classroom, and the importance of building knowledge of your staff and looking at the value of training and professional development.

All these issues are so important, but the I felt the advice was delivered in a rather prescriptive way and reading it, one gets rather a negative impression that one has failed thus far! It is an incredibly informative book and clearly well researched and informative but for lesser mortals amongst us, I would like it to be a little more user friendly.

Impact is available to buy at Bloomsbury Publishing for £10.49, which includes a website price saving of £4.50
