Sara Videbeck and the Chapel (Classic Reprint) Synopsis

Excerpt from Sara Videbeck and the Chapel
Sara Videoee/e had a marked in?uence on Swed ish letters with respect to both style and content. It gave the impulse also for a flood ofargumenta tive Sara Videoeek literature; even unsympathetic writers appropriated suggestions from its themes and descriptions. Almquist lacked balance and firm ness - only a few stanch friends supported openly his ideals - and it was not until much later, when his artistry and social ethics were studied in the light of evolutionary development, that he found less reluctant disciples. Modern feminists, however, have received fruitful impressions from Almquist. Among them is the moralist Ellen Key, who has called him Sweden's most modern writer.
