Reader Notes for Happy Habits by Dr. Alex George

These reader notes are designed to help you and your class get the very best out of Happy Habits by Dr Alex George. They provide a wide range of activities to support engagement before, during, and after reading, encouraging reflection, discussion, and positive action.

The pack begins with pre-reading ideas such as making predictions from the cover, deciphering a word wall of key vocabulary, and designing a pledge poster to set intentions. As you read, pupils are invited to keep a journal for personal reflection and to try practical wellbeing activities, including the Good Day Recipe, Small Habits, Big Impact, and Movement or Mindfulness Breaks.

Prompts include a Class Happy Habit Wall to track progress together, the Seven Happy Habits Wellbeing Toolkit, and interactive worksheets such as the Happy Habits Explorer and Wellbeing Wheel. Together, these activities help pupils build a deeper understanding of the book’s messages, while also developing their own toolkit for everyday wellbeing.
