This book is intriguing. Unlike other books, everything is written as emails mostly between Edward and his mum. Edward has gone with his Uncle to Mongolia to see the mythical Great Dragon Battle Ceremony and meet Professor Baast. But he didn’t tell his mum or ask her first! The emergency chocolate packed in their biggest rucksack comes in handy during their trip but Edward wishes he had more. Will he see the Great Dragon Battle Ceremony and will he make it home again?
This book has really great pictures - I really like the Eagle mountain which also could be a hen! As a short story, you can read it all in one go, which you’ll want to do, as like me, you’ll wish to know what happens at the end!

I love the email format, I could read it so quickly. I think the dragons are really awesome. I do feel sorry for Ed's mum, he really made her worry! I can't believe dragons eat chocolate!
This book is great for children from around 7-12. I really liked how Uncle Morton has two dragons himself but when he meets the other dragons he’s terrified.
I think that Josh Lacey is now probably my second favourite author (first is obviously David Walliams). The way this is written is kind of like emails. This is the first book I’ve seen like this and I do like the way it’s written. I also like that this one little boy named Edward Smith-Pickle goes all the way from Scotland to Mongolia but he’s still the jolly boy he always is, even when he is standing there in front of three blood thirsty dragons. He’s not terrified but he just doesn’t know what to do. This is probably one of my most favourite books. I will definitely be getting the rest in the series.

'The Dragonsitter in the Land of the Dragons' is written in the style of an email conversation mainly between Edward and his mum.
Amatullah whizzed through this book, laughing at all the funny bits. The illustrations are excellent and amusing. She's looking forward to reading all the other books in the series.

The Dragonsitter in the Land of the Dragons is a funny and entertaining short reader. The book starts with our hero, Edward Smith-Pickle, informing his mother via email that he is not actually in Glasgow with his Uncle Morton but in Mongolia hunting for dragons. The whole story is written in emails between Edward and his mother. As you can imagine the emails from his mother become increasingly fraught! The trip to Mongolia is full of danger and excitement and lots of laugh out loud moments. I fully enjoyed reading the story and liked the quirky humour that runs through the whole story. By using emails the book is nicely split into small chunks of reading which will suit a developing reader. There are lovely illustrations which definitely add to the story, I particularly enjoyed the pictures of the chinese inspired dragons. A great addition to the Dragonsitter Series by Josh Lacey.

The main character is a boy called Eddie. Eddie is a clever boy who knows a lot about dragons. This is a little bit sad, and a little bit scary. A great book for anyone who likes dragons.
Only really okay if you have read one of the first books in the Dragonsitter series.
I read The Dragonsitter, the first book in this series some time ago. I think this book would have been a bit confusing if I hadn't have already read that one. In The Dragonsitter in the Land of the Dragons, Edward and his Uncle Morton are in Mongolia. At the beginning of the story, Edward's Mum doesn't thinks they are still in Glasgow. Most of the story is told through emails between Edward and his Mum. The book is very easy to read. I think it would suit someone from 5 -8 years old. It doesn't have enough adventure and interesting characters in it for me though.

The Dragon sitter in the Land of Dragons is one of the thrilling book from series of the Dragon sitter books. In this book, the author expressed the story well through exchange of emails between Edward and his mum. The mysterious adventures begins when Edward left for Mongolia to watch the Great Dragon Battle Ceremony with his uncle while his mum is unable to believe this. I found the story so entertaining and interesting that I finished it in a go.

An adventure book written as a collection of emails about a boy, his uncle and dragons!
This book is about a boy called Eddie, who goes to Mongolia and has an adventure with his uncle (and some dragons)! The book is a collecting of emails from Eddie and his mum, to each other, and I liked that it was written like this. This book was easy and quick to read and probably suited to someone younger than 9 but I still really enjoyed reading it!

The cover looked interesting because the way the dragons are staring at Eddie made me want to read the book.
My favourite character was Eddie because he is adventurous and I liked the world of dragons he was in. The theme of the story is adventure and I definitely think that it lived up to the theme.
My favourite part of the book was when Eddie was exploring the mountains with his uncle. They went into a cave and found bones and they didn’t know what they were until his uncle got knocked out with a dragon’s tail and he woke up with a really bad headache.
The illustrations by Garry Parsons made the book better because it helped me understand the story as I was reading it and they were very good visually.
I would like to read other books in this series because I really enjoyed the story and it was very interesting.
I would recommend this book to any reader aged 7 to 15 who likes adventure stories and fantasy books.

I found this book very hard to get into having not read any of the previous Dragonsitter books. There was no background to any of the characters and jumped straight into the diary entries which was confusing and really hard to follow.
