Jasper Viking Dog! Reader Reviews

Jasper Viking Dog!

This book is informative yet entertaining as the use of humour enables it to interest all readers.

Writing in letter form, this book is filled with facts about the Vikings. Charlie Tanner is writing on behalf of his dog Jasper to the Viking museum in Bogna and the book contains letters back and forth from the two recipients. This book is informative yet entertaining as the use of humour enables it to interest all readers. Hilary Robinson has written using facts that will appeal to the age of the reader: who knew that Bluetooth was named after the Vikings? The illustrations by Lewis James also lend themselves nicely to the text. A great book to read at the start of a Viking topic in order to engage children and allow their curiosities on the Vikings to develop.

A really good book with lots of interesting facts for boys and girls. It was also really funny and easy to read.

I really loved this book. I found it really funny but also really interesting as it including lots of interesting facts about the Vikings (and some about Romans).

I liked the format of the book -a series of letters.

I think this book would be suitable for boys and girls age 5+.

The print was really good too and made it really nice to read.

A quick fun read! This book would be great for children in Year 2 or 3, who are learning about the Vikings in their History lessons.

I really enjoyed this book - it was funny and also had lots of facts about Vikings and how they lived. I think my friends would like it too as we have been learning about Vikings at school.

I really enjoyed this book and read it really quickly. I liked that it was funny but that it also had lots of facts about Vikings and how they lived. I think my friends would like it too as we have been learning about Vikings at school.

This book is perfect for everyone like me who likes facts and history. I would recommend it to children in Year 3 or 4.

A short, funny read with lots of Viking facts, for example, the Vikings explored, not only Europe but also Africa and America. I liked the plot twists and that the dog is the main character and the boy is his sidekick which was the opposite to what I was expecting from the front cover!

Another Amazing book on Jasper the Dog!

As I enjoyed reading Jasper Space Dog and it was my pleasure to be offered this opportunity to read and review this book. This is a wonderful addition to the previous book. I enjoyed reading as it is a great way to show the communication between the characters through an exchange of letters. I liked the way the author had turned interesting historical facts into a book so children can learn and enjoy both. I would love to recommend Jasper Viking dog to all age group as it is funny as well as full of historical facts.

Funny, short and full of facts! This book made me laugh out loud!

Jasper the dog thinks he is a Viking and over 1000 years old! This book is very funny and I loved reading it! The parrot was my favourite character and I learnt lots of facts about the Vikings. I think Year 3, boys and girls, would enjoy this and it would be useful for their history lessons

Another terrific fact-filled book

Jasper is back and this time he wants to know more about the Vikings. With help from the local Viking Museum, Jasper, Charlie and Parrot learn more about Viking life in the same entertaining way as the first book in this collection, Jasper Space Dog!

This book is a great way for children to learn more about the Vikings while also enjoying Jasper's humour. I can't wait to see what Jasper and co. learn about next.
