Banana Surprise by Viv Sayer

Banana Surprise by Viv Sayer

Daniel hates shopping, but he must go with his mother. At the supermarket, he plays havoc with his toy tarantula. Luckily, his mother says he'll be sent out fishing with his father next time, instead of shopping!

Daniel quickly pockets the toy tarantula he is playing with when Mum tries to entice him to go on an adventure to the supermarket on a sunny day. His thoughts are with his Dad on the familys pleasure boat taking visitors to Skomer Island. Mums talk of bananas from the Windward Islands gives Daniel an idea, and mayhem ensues in the store ... The clever ploy results in the desired response from Mum: Next time youll have to stay with Dad! The situation in this lively tale is common for any child who lives by the seaside in Wales: seasonal work, busy parents, boredom, as well as every childs desire to scare and use wiles to get his or her own way! The bright, colourful illustrations enhance the comical tale: vivid scenes, clothes, and characters are presented, along with elements of the bizarre. Look out for the hippy dude in the store, Cadi the Cat and Mums marvellous hair crayons! This is another story in the increasingly popular Cadi series of picture books.
