A World Book Day 'Recommended Read' for 2011
George (12) - Fans of Philip Reeve’s Mortal Engine series will love Storm Thief! However, the world in the story, ‘Okros’, is a darker and more dangerous one where probability storms mean anything can happen. The characters too are more mature with secrets and hidden emotions reflecting the desperate world they live in. I really liked the book with its mix of emotion, betrayal, love, loyalty and exhilarating action and I am hoping there will be a sequel!
Storm Thief by Chris Wooding
A thrilling novel set in Orokos, a city of chaos, lashed by probability storms that re-order the world wherever they strike. It covers every inch of the rocky island that it dominates. It has stood for so long that history has forgotten it, and nobody questions what exists beyond. And then, three of its denizens discover the key to the secret.
Wooding’s explosive visual imagination knows no bounds… The Times
