The Lovereading4Kids comment

Interest Age 11+ Reading Age 8 This is a great teen novel with a twist that everyone will relate to. Joe loves to draw but he also loves a girl called Honey. But he has a problem. His drawings of Cal seem to be coming to live and delivering horrible consequences. Can he really be making this happen? An imaginative tale with wonderful illustrations also by the author.

Particularly suitable for struggling, reluctant and dyslexic readers of 12+.

Synopsis

Graphic by Cathy Brett

Joe is a keen artist, a keen artist with a massive crush on Honey. Unfortunately Honey is dating Cal and he is nothing but a bully. When Joe imagines all the horrible things that could happen to Cal and draws them, horrible things begin happening - and other drawings start to appear before his very eyes. Is it possible he could literally draw his dreams into reality?

About the Author

Cathy has been doodling since she could hold a crayon - on paper, on walls, sometimes on her sister! She went to art college and then travelled the world working in theatre, fashion, design and children's books. The children's book doodling was the most fun and, thinking it would probably be a whole lot more fun if she could write the words too, she had a go. Cathy also writes animation film scripts, graphic novels and illustrates other people's books, in between blogging, teaching design and touring around the country.
