Percy's Bumpy Ride by Nick ButterworthPercy the Park Keeper surprises his animal friends in this engaging story from highly-regarded, best-selling author-illustrator Nick Butterworth. Includes a fabulous fold-out page! Percy the park keeper has been busy in his workshop for days. As his animal friends try to guess what he is making, Percy suddenly emerges sitting on top of a very strange machine. The animals jump aboard for what turns out to be a very bumpy ride...
'...it's good for reading aloud to under-fives, and later the six-pluses will still want to read it themselves.'
'A heartwarming bedtime tale...'
'...look no further for the best present for any child from two to six.'
Percy is busy in his workshop building a new lawnmower and the animals are excited. But the fan, which is meant to keep him and his passengers cool, acts as a propeller and the animals and Percy are off on another adventure of their own. Butterworth can do no wrong. Percy the Park Keeper and his adventures are always a delight, and this is no exception, keeping the children guessing right up to the end. Percy the eccentric park keeper has great empathy with his animal friends - always treating them like a gentle school teacher - and although things always take a turn for the worse, it always comes right in the end. The illustrations with the surprise fold-out page are enchanting. One to add to the collection. (Kirkus UK)
