826 Valencia is a nonprofit that runs writing programs for kids in cities across the United States, and is dedicated to supporting under-resourced students ages six to eighteen with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. The organization is known for its imaginative and funny products and publications. Founded in San Francisco by Dave Eggers, there are now 826 chapters in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Washington DC, and Ann Arbor.
