The Lovereading4Kids comment

A wonderful fable which makes readers reconsider any prejudices they may have about rats! Mrs Frisby needs to move home quickly when the farmer threatens to plough up the field where her home is. But everything goes wrong and she and her sick son Timothy only survive because of the kindness of the rats who have escaped from a research laboratory. Rats are heroes, the humans experimenting on them are villains, in this thrilling and thought provoking story.

Puffin Fact! Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH was inspired by research carried out on the mice and rat population over twenty years from the 1940s to the 1960s! Download more Puffin Facts here!
