The Lovereading4Kids comment
This fantastic book combined with the technology of the FREE Blink Book app brings colouring bang up to date and allows your budding artist to bring their pictures to life. There are 16 pictures to colour and each page gives you tips on what to colour/draw to get the best out of your animated film. The book features a variety of interesting animals such as Butterflies, Bats, Scarlet Ibis, Stoats and many more, along with fascinating facts. Once the colouring is done you simply photograph (Snap) your pictures on your phone or tablet and then with the help of the App turn them into animated films. The more you colour, the longer and more involved the animations will become until you end up with a whole host of characters and a piece of film around 8 minutes long. It really is that simple and great fun to boot. This is an exciting development in colouring/animation for children and as technology continues to grow we look forward to many more innovative and exciting books like this one.
Before buying we recommend you check that your device is compatible by visiting the App Store or Google Play and searching for the Blink Book app. To get the most out of the App we recommend downloading to a tablet rather than a phone.

Colour, Snap, App!: My First Animated Colouring Book by Claire Fay
The groundbreaking new colouring book that turns your pictures into animated films. Colour in the pictures, take photos using the free app and create your very own animated films based on your drawings ...it's as easy as colour, snap, app!
In this fun and exciting colouring book, colour in 16 pictures, create 16 animated episodes and make a total of 8 minutes of animated film simply by using the free app, available on your smartphone or tablet. As you colour and watch your pictures move, also discover how animals use their colours and markings in surprising ways. Colouring in will never be dull again!
An innovative book with a fascinating back story. It was first published in France, where a crowd-sourcing campaign raised the money for the book and app to be created. The app is free, available on most smartphones and tablets and is incredibly simple to use. The book is suitable for children aged 5+.
