The Lovereading4Kids comment

Albert loves making up stories, and his mum and dad love listening to them. But when his baby brother Henry arrives, no-one seems to have time to listen to stories any more. With everyone fussing round Little Henry, Albert feels smaller and smaller. Fortunately Mum and Dad notice and Albert gets to tell his special story. This little snapshot of family life is the perfect book for parents and children to share, with lots to talk about especially after the arrival of a new sibling. Jez Alborough’s illustrations are warm and expressive as ever and the characters will become household favourites. ~ Andrea Reece

Albert and Little Henry by Jez Alborough

The perfect picture book for a family preparing for a new addition, Jez Alborough is at his best when putting himself in a young child's shoes. Albert is not a little puppy any more, Albert is a big dog! But when his baby brother Henry comes along, something very strange happens ...he starts to feel small.

Discover how Albert learns to feel big again in this adorable tale about new siblings, from the award-winning author of Hug.

About the Author

Jez Alborough

Jez Alborough was born in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey in 1959. As a young boy he was always very creative but it was not until a guest bought him a box of crisp white paper, some pencils and a rubber that he expressed his creativity in drawing. As Jez says "It was an act of support and encouragement which I have never forgotten. The identity of this guest remains to this day a mystery. I like to think he was my guardian angel."

Jez is very much in demand for storytelling events for children, as well as speaking about his work to librarians and teachers.

He lives in London with his wife and enjoys playing the guitar and walking along the river.
