Julia Eccleshare's comment:

Enjoy a fantastic romp through some crazy magic. Clover Twig's new job as cleaner to the stranage Mrs Eckles comes with a very special house. It's a cottage that can fly! But a flying home has many problems - not least that several other people want it, too!

Perfect for Reluctant Readers as well as keen readers.  To view other titles we think are suitable for reluctant readers please click here.

Synopsis

Clover Twig And The Incredible Flying Cottage by Kaye Umansky

Clover Twig is clever and responsible. She also needs to find a job to help out her chaotic family. So when she sees a sign saying 'Wonted. Strong Gril to Cleen. Aply Mrs Eckles, Hous in the Woods', she knows this is the job for her, even though Mrs Eckles is (perhaps) a witch, even though the gate is rude to Clover.

Reviews

'It is enchanting, compelling, funny and completely zany ... action packed with adventure and incredible things'
The School Librarian

About The Author

Kaye Umansky

Kaye Umansky is a very successful writer for children, with her books ranging from picture books to novels. Her first novel, Pongwiffy, shot straight onto the bestseller list on publication. She is also the author of the Solomon Snow books. Clover Twig and the Incredible Flying Cottage, published by Bloomsbury in April 2008, is fantastically funny, hugely pacy and full of wonky magic, clutzy characters and lots of energy.

Her bestselling picture books include Tickle My Nose, illustrated by Nick Sharratt.

To celebrate 21 years of the hugely popular Pongwiffy,  Bloomsbury are publishing the newly repackaged, newly reillustrated and fantastically funny Pongwiffy series, as well as a brand new title Pongwiffy, Back on Track.

Awards Kay has collected
Nottinghamshire Book Award 1993 for Pongwiffy and The Spell of The Year
TES Junior Music Book Award 1999 for Three Rapping Rats
