The Lovereading comment:
Terrific comedy adventures with a footballing twist that are sure to be loved by boys in particular as well as reluctant readers. These books show that mischievousness doesn’t necessarily mean naughty! The kids are part of an anything-but-ordinary football team. For starters each kid has wings, they’ve been booted out of heaven for bad behaviour by the Angel Gabriel and back on earth they must stay out of trouble or they’ll never be allowed back. Difficult when you have wings! The first two in the series, Classroom Defenders and Zombies in the House are short novels and perfect for 7 year olds and upwards although older boys will equally enjoy them for their interest level.
Synopsis
Demon Defenders: Classroom Demons by Jake LancingAlex, Inch, Cherry, House and Spit are a gang of five football-loving, mischief-making friends - who just happen to be angels. But the gang get into one scrape too many and are banished to Earth until they can learn to behave. Stuck with a teacher who makes Professor Snape look like Mary Poppins, the gang's chances of returning don't look good.
About The Author
Jake Lancing lives in Somerset. When not writing about adventure-seeking, football-playing angels, he spends his time avoiding work, listening to very uncool music, growing his hair and helping the government to catch spies*. He jumped out of a plane once because it seemed like a good idea at the time.
* One of those things might not be entirely true.
