This bright picture book invites young readers or listeners to join six exuberant children as they run through the countryside in gaily coloured boots. Boots are shown as sensible footwear for negotiating muddy puddles, marshy areas near ponds and damp grass. Young children love to lift flaps and here they will discover a spider, bumblebees, acorns and dragonflies. There is a lot to think and talk about. When exploring, you should not go too fast in case you miss small but interesting things like a bird's nest or tiny beetles.
