The Lovereading4Kids comment

Flirty Dancing author Jenny McLachlan has her finger firmly on the pulse of teen girls! Love Bomb is the second book in the Ladybirds series, and the good news is that it’s just as funny, smart and current as the first. Narrator Betty Plum has fallen in love by page 5 – but it’s literally the first time she’s fancied someone real. (Italics are a vital component of this book, which is all the better for it). As we all know however, the path of true love never runs smooth, and the person Betty really needs – her mum – isn’t there to help. The breezy humour is cut through with real sadness, but the reader will be left smiling, cheered, inspired and happy. ~ Andrea Reece

Synopsis

Love Bomb by Jenny McLachlan

Love Bomb is the sequel to Flirty Dancing, the debut book by Jenny McLachlan. This laugh-out-loud series is about a group of four (ex-) best friends (Bea, Betty, Kat and Pearl) known as the Ladybirds. Each of the four books will focus on a different Ladybird. Love Bomb tells Betty’s story.

Betty Plum has never been in love. She's never even kissed a boy. But when H.O.T. Toby starts school it's like Betty has been hit with a thousand of Cupid's arrows. It's like a bomb has exploded – a love bomb!

Is Betty ready to fall in love? Will she finally have her first kiss?

‘This book is funny, sad, confusing and full of tension all at the same time’ First News

About the Author

Jenny McLachlan

Before Jenny started writing books for teenagers, she was an English teacher. Although she loved teaching funny teenagers (and stealing the things they said and putting them in her books) she now gets to write about them full time. In her spare time, just like Bea the heroine in her first novel, Flirty Dancing, Jenny loves to jive.

She is based in Eastbourne.
