The Lovereading4Kids comment

Nine of Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm’s best-known stories are retold with great fluency in this beautifully produced edition which is perfectly designed to be read aloud. Favourites, which include The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel and Snow White among others, capture the magic and mystery at the heart of the stories which is also reflected in the attractive illustrations.

Tales from Grimm by Antonia Barber

A major new selection of the Grimm Fairy Tales, retold especially for five to eight year olds by the noted children’s writer, Antonia Barber.

Antonia Barber’s splendid story telling is well matched by the fresh, atmospheric illustrations of Margaret Chamberlain, which capture the spirit of each tale.

One of the Frances Lincoln Classics series which also includes Tales from Hans Christian Andersen and Greek Myths: Stories of Sun, Stone and Sea.

* Margaret Chamberlain's illustrations are beautiful, daintily drawn and coloured, lively, often funny... Each book has beautiful endpapers.
