At LoveReading4Kids, we believe that reading for pleasure changes lives - and that no single organisation can do this work alone.

Our Literacy Partners are the charities, organisations and initiatives working across the UK to help children discover the joy, confidence and opportunity that reading brings. Together, we form a connected network supporting families, schools and communities to nurture the next generation of readers.

We are delighted to welcome GLL Literary Foundation. Founded to support early career authors to continue to write, inspire young readers, and champion public libraries, the GLL Literary Foundation is a unique initiative making a difference in local communities. Established by GLL, the charitable social enterprise that is the largest operator of public libraries in the UK, the Foundation helps bridge the gap between publication and a sustainable writing career. Each selected author receives a £750 bursary along with more than £4,000 worth of in-kind professional development support, including mentoring from librarians, training and networking opportunities. The programme supports authors who live, work or study near GLL’s public libraries across Bromley, Dudley, Greenwich, Lincolnshire and Wandsworth, strengthening connections between writers, libraries and the communities they serve.

Their mission is to support early career children’s authors, champion public libraries, and inspire young readers by building meaningful connections between writers and communities. The Foundation helps authors develop sustainable careers through financial support, professional development and opportunities to engage directly with children and families through library and school events.

GLL Literary Foundation supports traditionally published children’s authors who live, work or study in areas served by GLL’s public libraries, including Bromley, Dudley, Greenwich, Lincolnshire and Wandsworth. These writers work across a range of forms including picture books, early readers, middle grade, young adult fiction and poetry.
