At LoveReading4Kids, we believe that reading for pleasure changes lives - and that no single organisation can do this work alone.
Our Literacy Partners are the charities, organisations and initiatives working across the UK to help children discover the joy, confidence and opportunity that reading brings. Together, we form a connected network supporting families, schools and communities to nurture the next generation of readers.
We are delighted to welcome The Open University - Reading for Pleasure Research and Practice Coalition, a research-leading organisation at the forefront of national and international work on reading for pleasure. The Coalition designs, leads and mobilises large-scale research exploring how reading shapes lives, identities and communities. Its mission is simple: researching reading, transforming lives.
Based within The Open University’s Literacy and Social Justice Centre, the Coalition brings together researchers, educators, librarians and partner organisations to advance understanding of reading as a volitional, social and affective practice. Its work focuses particularly on children and young people, and on the roles of schools, families and communities in shaping reading lives.
The OU - RfP Reading Schools Programme
The Coalition supports teachers, schools, libraries, families and organisations through research, professional learning, partnerships and open-access resources, working collaboratively to build inclusive and sustainable reading cultures.
